MARATHON FRANJA BTC CITY – MUSEEUW CLASSIC

This event shall be deemed as:
  • the Slovenian national individual time trial championship for the categories Under 17, Juniors (men and women), Under 23 (men only) and Elite (men and women);
  • an event of the Slovenian Cup for the following categories: Women A and B, Masters A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I and Amateur A,B and C;
  • a qualifying event for the participation in the UWCT Final – the world time trial championship for amateur cyclists.

RIGHT TO PARTICIPATION:
In the categories where this event is deemed as the Slovenian national championship, only riders who hold both the nationality of the Republic of Slovenia and a valid race licence for 2012 are allowed to participate.

COURSE:

The time trial will start on Ameriška avenija in front of Kristalna palača in BTC City. The course will continue along Ameriška avenija, then turning right onto Šmartinska cesta. Continuing along Šmartinska cesta for about 4 kilometres, the course   then reaches the crossing with Sneberska/Zadobrovška cesta, where the riders will make a  left turn towards Šentjakob at the traffic lights. At the next traffic lights in Šentjakob, the course turns right and continues straight ahead in the direction of Litija all the way to the first roundabout, where the riders will make a U-turn and head back along the same course. On the way back to the start/finish, riders must keep to the right lane until they reach Jarše, where they will pass onto the right half of the dual carriageway road that will be divided into two lanes using cones. This regime continues all the way to the finish.

Riders must use the appropriate lane and may not ride on the opposite lane when cutting corners. All corners will be divided into two lanes using cones. Riders are only allowed to ride on the opposite carriageway along Šmartinska cesta which will be divided into two lanes using cones.

For the categories Under 17, Women Juniors, Women Elite and for all amateur categories (both men and women) the length of the course is 18,6 km.
For Men Under 23 and Elite, the length of the course is 38km (two U-turns at the roundabout in Dol, a U-turn at the roundabout in BTC city after the first crossing of the finish line).

START/FINISH:
The first rider will start at 14:00 on Ameriška avenija in BTC City.

PRIZES:
For the categories Under 17, Juniors (men and women), Under 23, Elite and Women Elite, prizes in accordance with the regulation of the Slovenian Cycling Federation for national championships. In other categories, the top three riders will be awarded prizes. The awards ceremony for all categories will take place after the end of the competition, approximately 30 minutes after the official results have been received.

REGISTRATION:
Registration forms should be sent per e-mail to kdrog@volja.net, by no later than 30 April 2012 by 24:00h. Registration is no longer possible after this deadline. For amateur categories, the use of the attached application form is compulsory.

ENTRY FEE:
For the categories Amateur A,B,C, Master A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I and Women A and B, an entry fee in the amount of 16 € applies and can be paid in cash when collecting the race number or paid into the account of KD ROG  by no later than 30 April 2012 by 24:00h.

RACE REGULATIONS:
The regulations of the UCI and the Slovenian Cycling Federation and the provisions of this call for entries apply. The organiser reserves the right to amend this call for entries in agreement with the commissaires' panel. Slipstreaming is prohibited. The starting interval is 30 seconds for the categories Amateur A,B,C, Master A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I and Women A and B and 1 minute for the categories Under 17, Juniors, Under 23, Elite and Women Elite. Only passenger cars may be used as following vehicles on the course. Only riders in the categories  Under 17, Juniors, Under 23, Elite and Women Elite may be accompanied by a following vehicle.

Team managers' meeting:
will take place on 8 June 2012 at 12:30 in the race headquarters (lobby of Kristalna palača).

Equipment (entire bicycle, wheels, gear ratio, clothing, headgear) must comply with the UCI regulations for the year 2012 (UCI Cycling Regulations – Part 1: General organisation of cycling as a sport – Chapter III: Equipment), including the special requirement for the Under 17 category, where only standard bicycles may be used (frame tubes in accordance with Article 1.3.024 and only standard road race wheels – for explanations on standard/traditional wheels, see paragraph 3 of Article 1.3.018: wheels with at least 16 metal spokes that may be round, flat, or oval, provided that no dimension of their cross-section exceeds 2.4 mm, while the section of the rim may not exceed 2.5 cm). UCI-tested non-standard wheels are not allowed. Furthermore, only the traditional type of handlebars may be used in this category (Article 1.3.023 that  allows for the use of fixed extensions does not apply).
              
Doping control will take place on the premises of (Kristalna palača or Mercurius).
Warming-up on the course IS PROHIBITED.
Collection of race numbers: at the race headquarters starting at 11:00h.
The start list will be published on 4 June 2012 on the organiser's web page www.franja.org  and at the race headquarters.

The organiser may not be held liable for any damage caused by participants to themselves, to other participants or to third parties.

Parking for team vehicles for the categories Under 17, Juniors, Under 23, Elite and Women Elite will be available in the parking lot of BTC City.

COMPLAINTS
:
Complaints are to be submitted to the president of the commissaires' panel within 15 minutes after the publication of the unofficial results. Complaints must be submitted in writing. The person submitting the complaint must hold a valid licence of the Slovenian Cycling Federation for 2012. A deposit of 25 € shall be paid upon submission and will be refunded if the complaint is upheld.

OTHER PROVISIONS:

 During the competition, the course will be closed for all traffic. Riders and following vehicles participate in the event at their own risk. The organiser may not be held liable for any damage caused by participants to themselves, to other participants or to third parties.
